About

Arts and literature have always been a form of resistance.

It is through literature that we have always been able to learn compassion and empathy for others and to aspire for a kinder world. Historically, artists, poets, and writers have marched alongside the working class, unionists, and those who dared to hope for change. In recent years, art has been depoliticised and sanitised, with its politics, heart, and radical aspirations removed. We want to be a part of the wave bringing that back.

We are the Malaysian Carnation Press.

We are a youth-led independent literary journal and publisher that aims to platform left-wing voices, cultivate community, and facilitate discussion on anti-capitalism, liberation, and resistance through culture and the arts. We want to be a space for writers and artists in Malaysia to share their work and their hopes for radical change in the anti-imperialist and anti-capitalist struggle.

We join many voices across the world in a multicultural and transnational front against Western imperialism for the liberation of the people.
